Executive Team

Jamie is a senior at UAF pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a finance concentration. She was born and raised in Eagle River, Alaska.

 

Aside from school, Jamie loves traveling, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.

Here is our hardworking group of executives, guided by our amazing advisor. These people are the cogs and gears that keep ASB running.

Vice President

Heidi is a senior at UAF working on her Business Administration degree, concentrating on marketing. She grew up in North Pole, AK. 

 

She enjoys being outside as much as possible and playing soccer is her passion, so she plays as much as she can get her feet on the ball.

Christina is a senior at UAF working on getting her bachelor's degree in Business Administration. She has lived in Alaska her entire life and loves all the exciting recreational activities this state has to offer.

 

Outside of school and ASB, she enjoys playing/watching different sports, baking and doing anything artistic.

Michael is a retired veteran who served in the Army for six years. He is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus in accounting.

 

Michael loves dogs and works at the Fairbanks Asylum scaring customers. 

Adam is about half way to getting his degree in Business Administration, after changing majors a few times.  He has lived here in Fairbanks most of his life, but plans to leave after graduation.

 

Adam enjoys music, dancing, and traveling the world.

 

David is a fourth year student at UAF working on receiving his bachelor's of science degree in petroleum engineering. He has lived in Alaska for over 17 years and loves athletic activities such as running and basketball.

 

For his free time he loves to watch movies and television, listen to music, bike, and socialize with friends.

Wendalyn Tisland
Academic Advisor

  Wendy started her career in human resources at UAF in 1987.  In 2008 she found her way back to the university where she currently is employed by UAF School of Management, teaching Human Resource Management to undergraduate students.  Prior to this current position Wendy worked in the Labor & Employee Relations office at the University of Alaska facilitating the resolution to grievances and negotiating union contracts on behalf of the university.  

 

     Prior positions include: Assistant Director of HR for the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District, Director of HR for the Kodiak Area Native Association; Director of HR for Tanana Valley Clinic; HR Manager for the Fairbanks Community Behavioral Health Center. 

 

     Wendy earned both her bachelors and masters degrees from UAF and is nationally certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and internationally recognized as a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS).

Jim Arkell
Academic Advisor

 

 

           Prior Teaching positions include: 

Shenzen University (2003 – 2014)Shenzhen, China;  Professor, Shenzhen University School of Law

 

Peking University Graduate School  Shenzhen, China; Adjunct Professor

 

         Jim earned his Bachelor of Arts at Texas Tech University as well as his Juris Doctorate at Texas Tech University School of Law. Jim is also licensed to practice Law by Texas Supreme Court; Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals; U.S.D.C. for the Western, Northern, Southern & Eastern Districts of Texas, a member of the State Bar of Texas, a member of Society for Business Ethics and a member of the International Association of Legal Ethics.
